Florals & Feels: Redefining Success
We are entering the final month of 2020. The time when people take inventory of the year, exploring the wins and losses, while planning for the new year. By this point, you may have already discarded 2020 as a waste or a wash. The year has been marked by incredible loss, pain and heartbreak. The pandemic completely changed even the best laid plans for the year. So it is understandable that we look to the new year with hopes that it can somehow redeem the one we just had.
But what if we still celebrate the success in the year?
What if we chose to look for the unconventional wins that lie outside of our typical yearly goals?
What would you find?
You may have found your voice around social matters. Created healthy boundaries around work and family. You may have figured out how to stretch your income to cover the untimely bills or managed to juggle both work + homeschool.
2020 may have been a wash in comparison to the plans we established at the start of the year, but at some point, there was a shift. We adapted. We reframed expectations. We adjusted the way we live and move in this world.
And if you are looking back on the year with frustration struggling to find the good in it all, you made it to this moment. You survived some of the hardest moments in your lifetime. You persevered when you wanted to give up. You utilized the resources that you had, leveraging the creativity within. Count these as victories. THESE are the success worth celebrating.
There are no failures when we look at life as being filled with lessons and growth opportunities. Our story is still being written…So as we look back on this year, let us look for the lessons. Look for the ways we grew and choose to celebrate how far we have come.
